MANCHESTER: Manchester City are through to the 5th round of the FA Cup after a 1-0 victory over Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

According to mancity.com, Nathan Ake's right-footed shot shortly after the hour mark clinched the win for the Blues and maintained Pep Guardiola's dreams of winning the coveted cup competition for a second time alive.
Both teams will believe they had chances to win the game, but it was a well-placed finish from an unlikely source that proved decisive.

In the fifth minute, Stefan Ortega Moreno was the first of the two goalkeepers to be called upon, palming away Takehiro Tomiyasu's lovely shot from the edge of the area.

City's first chance came via an acrobatic overhead kick from Erling Haaland, who reacted quickly after being beaten to a through ball by goalkeeper Matt Turner and fired the looping clearance goalwards from 30 yards.

The covering Arsenal defence blocked it, but there is no better display of the striker's confidence.

In the 21st minute, new Arsenal acquisition Leandro Trossard, making his full debut, moved the ball out of Ortega Moreno's feet and blasted across goal.

The German shot stopper was up to the task, but it served as a reminder of the threat that this much-changed Arsenal side posed.

A few minutes later, Kevin De Bruyne appeared to have broken the deadlock when he lined up a left-footed curler, but it whistled agonisingly wide of Turner's post.
