Mumbai: A 31-year-old man committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of the airport building on Saturday. Police officials confirmed that the deceased has been identified as one Akshay Saraswat, a resident of Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh.

Police official told news agencies that Saraswat's family has claimed that he was mentally disturbed over the past two years and left home about two days ago without informing anyone. The Man contacted his family members on Friday and told them that he was at the international airport after which his kin even met him. However, he took his own life at around 6.45 am on Saturday morning.

Inspector Raghunath Kadam said that a suicide note was found from Saraswat's bag. In the note, he wrote that "no one is responsible for my death.” For the time being, a case of accidental death has been registered in this regard and a police probe into the matter is underway.

In another similar inciden, in February of 2016 when a 32-year-old Ukranian businessman died after jumping from a second level parking lot of the airport building. Later identified as Mykhaylo Chekreyn, the deceased was found in a pool of blood by passerby at around 4.30 am the next morning. Chekreyn was rushed to the Cooper Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
