A man who committed more than 60 daylight burglaries has been arrested by Delhi Police Crime Branch. The accused is a resident of Kucha Tarachand, Daryaganj, Delhi, who is identified as Saud Hassan. On June 8, an incident of day house burglary was reported in Delhi's Laxmi Nagar area.

A vault containing Rs 27 lakh and half kg of gold ornaments was reported to be stolen from the house of the complainant. The Crime Branch team started working on this case. A lot of technical and manual information was collected, and CCTV footage of the nearby areas was analysed, based on the technical investigation conducted by the team of Inspector Arun Sindhu and Inspector Kuldeep Kumar Sharma.

On June 14, 2022, secret information was received to the team that the accused Saud is currently in a Hotel in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. Once the information was received, a team was sent to Mussoorie. The team searched the hotels and Hassan was apprehended in a hotel on Mall Road, Mussoorie where he was staying with his family.

DCP Crime Branch Rohit Meena said, "During interrogation accused Saud Hassan accepted his involvement in the case and stated that he along with his associates, namely Naseem and Farman, committed the said burglary. The next day of this incident, they read the news in the newspaper regarding the said incident. After reading this news, they fled Delhi to avoid detection. As per the plan, on June 12 he moved to Mussoorie, Uttarakhand with his family. He booked a hotel and started staying there."

"Upon the instance of Saud, Rs 3,92,000 of the stolen money one pair of stolen earrings, one mobile phone used in the commission of a crime, and housebreaking tools were recovered from his house i.e. 3191, 4th Floor, Kucha Tarachand, Daryaganj, Delhi. He further disclosed that he along with Naseem and Farman also committed another burglary in the Laxmi Nagar area," Rohit Meena added.

He fell into bad company in his growing up years and started committing burglary to fulfil his needs as he is a drug addict. He also accepted to have committed more than 60 burglaries along with his associates.
