NEW DELHI:  Man  reportedly killed for refusing to pay ransom money; three detained. 

In the nation's capital, a man was killed after he refused to pay extortion money to attackers, and three people have been detained in connection with this, an official said on Tuesday, September 20.

Amit Goel, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), said: "Nadeem, the accused, somehow learnt that Abdul, the deceased Javed's father, signed a contract to sell his house and received earnest money from the buyer.

 When victim Javed refused to pay an extortion demand of Rs 50,000 made by accused Nadeem and his brother Uved, they killed him on July 15 along with their friends Uved and Chhote "said the Crime Branch-Deputy Commissioner of Police.

On July 21, the local police detained Nadeem along with the accused Shahabaz alias Chhote and Uved (Nadeem's brother).

Nadeem, also known as Sher Khan, is a troublesome member of the Jyoti Nagar police force.
The senior officer claimed that after receiving information about Nadeem's whereabouts on September 17, they apprehended him.
