NEW DELHI: A 54-year-old man was found dead in a hotel in South Delhi's Safdarjung Enclave neighbourhood on Saturday, said a senior police official, who also added that a murder complaint has been filed in connection. The deceased was identified as Deepak Sethi, a resident of Indirapuram in Ghaziabad.

On Friday at 12:49 p.m., a PCR call was made to the Safdarjang Enclave police station inquiring about a fatality in Baljeet Lodge.
A team immediately deployed to the spot, the police said.

"After the initial investigation, it was discovered that Deepak and a woman had booked into the hotel on Thursday at 8:50 p.m. But by midnight, the woman had already fled," the official reported.

The next morning, Deepak's body was discovered with some stains on his pillow and froth pouring from his mouth. He had drunk alcohol in the space as well. The deceased was working on commission and had been without a permanent job for the previous 7–8 years.

The official continued, "A case of murder has been registered and investigation is underway in light of the unnatural death in suspicious circumstances."
