New York: Sharing photo on social media of taking an overweight cat to a passenger cabin cost dearly to an American Guy. A person named Mikhail Ghalin replaced his fat cat with a light-weight cat and then board plane with his cat. He mentioned the incident on social media and in turn, the airlines took action. Russian Airlines dropped Mikhail from the Frequent Flyer Program.

Airlines officials told Galin that his 22-pound (10 kg) cat could not be carried in the Victor Passenger cabin due to being overweight. On the flight to Vladivostok, the airline officials explicitly refused to take the cat along. Victor did not want to send the cat in the cargo used for animals. Galin wrote in his Facebook post that he booked a business class flight for himself and Victor. He then replaced his cat with fake underweight with the help of a friend. According to the rules, 7 kg of animal weight can be transported to a passenger cabin.
