NEW DELHI: Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, India's Minister of Health, Chemicals, and Fertilizers, will be in Russia from June 15-18 for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).  This will be the 25th edition of the SPIEF and will take place from Wednesday to Saturday, this week.

SPIEF has been held annually since 1997, with Russian President Vladimir Putin giving the keynote presentation. This year's visitor country will be Egypt. India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the keynote speaker at SPIEF in 2017.
"We are seeing high levels of interest from the international community in platforms for dialogue like ours," Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee, said. "A number of countries have already expressed interest in sending representative delegations to SPIEF 2022."

Mansukh Mandaviya will lead the Indian delegation to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), with a focus on fertiliser and potash supplies as India rushes to ensure uninterrupted fertiliser supply during the kharif season.

The visit by Minister Mandaviya will be India's first high-level visit to Russia since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited India earlier this year.
