Manipur chief minister appeals students to co-orperate against vice president Manipur University

On Tuesday, N Biren Singh, the Chief Minister of Manipur appealed the students to help and cooperate with the fact-finding committee of the central government which has been made to investigate against , Prof Adya Prasad Pandey who is the Vice-Chancellor of the Manipur University.

The Chief minister asserted, "I appreciate the Central government's concern. He also appreciated Javadekar for establishing a fact-finding committee intended to investigate all the allegations that have been laid against the Vice-Chancellor of the Manipur University. He also requested the students and all the people associated with the University to help the government in the probe and hence allow the University to function for larger interest."

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, On Tuesday appointed a team of three members for the purpose of fact-finding to investigate all the allegations that have been made against the Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University.

The Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) are on strike and are protesting against the vice president of the University who has been accused of administrative negligence and financial irregularities. The Central Government on July 12, appointed a fact-finding committee which included the University Grants Commission (UGC), Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court and an HRD member.
