N Biren Singh, the chief minister of Manipur, has said that his government "would not remain silent catch the culprits" in Monday's shooting incident.

On Monday night, miscreants opened fire on a BJP worker and an IRBn security man, killing at least one of them. On Tuesday morning, Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh visited with the victims' relatives in the Samurou region of Imphal West district.
