New Delhi: BJP's ally Shiromani Akali Dal leader and MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa has blamed the RBI in the case of forgery in Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank ie PMC Bank. Sirsa said that it is a cooperative bank but it is operated by RBI. All its matters are handled by the Reserve Bank and its responsibility is also in hands of RBI. He said that the consumers of the bank have not given their money to anyone, but this money has been given to the government.

RBI is responsible for fraud in the bank. He demanded from the RBI that the bank refund the money to consumers. It is known that Manjinder Singh Sirsa is an MLA from Rajouri Garden Assembly seat in Delhi. Sirsa won the by-election in 2017 as a candidate of BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal alliance. Recently, Mumbai Police arrested Varyam Singh, former chairman of Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank. Earlier, the Mumbai Police had filed an FIR against senior officials of the bank and HDIL for causing a loss of 4355.43 crores. Three people have also been arrested in this case so far.
