Panaji: In the backdrop of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s deteriorating health,  BJP lawmakers and core-committee members of the party’s Goa unit met to discuss the political situation.   Goa assembly Deputy Speaker and BJP MLA from Calangute Michael Lobo said that the  emergency meeting was called because Parrikar's health has deteriorated since last night. Doctors are continuously monitoring his health but are not saying that he will get alright anytime soon.

After meeting, Lobo told ANI,  "It was also about the Lok Sabha elections. There is no change of leadership and Manohar Parrikar will remain the Chief Minister.” He furtehr added,” We are praying to God that he should get well but there are no chances of him getting well. He is very ill. It is almost.”

Parrikar's health condition deteriorated on Sunday sparking heavy political activity across party lines in the western state. He suffers from a pancreatic ailment and is currently recuperating at his residence in Panaji. 

 

Meanwhile, a group of six lawmakers from BJP's coalition partners in the state said they met Parrikar at his residence amid rumours of his ill-health. They said his condition is stable.

Among those who made the claim include Goa Forward Party's Vijai Sardesai, Jayesh Salgaonkar, Vinod Palyekar and Independents - Rohan Khaunte, Govind Gawade and Prasad Gaonkar.
