Lucknow: The case of the thrashing of two people belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community has come to light in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Arbaz, Umar, Salman, Azharuddin, Raja, etc. have been blamed for the attack. It is alleged that the accused not only hurled casteist abuse at the victims but also used axes and pistols for the attack. The police have informed us about arresting the accused and continuing the investigation.

According to media reports, the incident took place on Friday, March 31, in Madrak, Kotwali area of Aligarh. Here, Arun Kumar, the victim of Jatav society, has filed a complaint at the police station on March 31, 2023. In the complaint, the victims have said that on the day of the incident, construction work was going on at their uncle's house in their village of Ghasipur. At the same time, Arbaaz, Raja, Umar, Salman, Azruddin, etc. together hurled casteist abuses at the Dalit victims. The victims told police that the accused challenged their caste to teach them a lesson while speaking in a derogatory manner.

The complaint further states that when some other people gathered there to save the victims, Arbaaz attacked them all with an axe. At the same time, Umar also tried to attack with a pistol. However, for some reason, he did not fire. The victim has demanded strict action from the police against the accused. On this complaint, the police have registered an FIR against Arbaz, Raja, Umar, Salman, Azharuddin, and Hasruddin's younger brother. Action has been taken against all of them under IPC sections 147, 323, 504, and SC/ST. The police said that the accused have been arrested and the matter is being investigated.
