Raipur: A major accident has been reported in the Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. The villagers have been run over by a speeding car here. Sources said, 16 villagers were reported injured in the accident while four persons lost their lives in the accident. However, the local administration has so far confirmed the same death.
According to information received, people were participating in the Durga Visarjan rally in the Pathalgaon police station area of Jashpur when a speeding car overtook them. The villagers, who were outraged by the accident, have blocked the movement by jamming the wheel. The villagers have also caught the vehicle which had gone 15 kilometres away and set it on fire.
A large quantity of ganja was reportedly kept in the car. Tension prevailed in the city at present. According to information received from the Office of Superintendent of Police Jashpur, both the accused in the accident has been arrested. Both the accused are said to be from the Kesingrauli district of Madhya Pradesh. At present, the police are interrogating the arrested accused and trying to find out where they brought such a large quantity of ganja and where they were going to supply it.
