On Tuesday, the tribal JAC called 'Manyam Bandh' in Kothagudem. The bandh went on peacefully. The bandh was called to demand that a law be brought based on GO No. 3, which gives 100 per cent reservation to tribal candidates in the recruitment of teacher posts in the agency villages. In 2000, go no 3 was issued in andhra pradesh to help the scheduled tribe (ST) candidates get teacher posts in schools in scheduled areas.

However, it should be noted that the supreme court's five-judge bench had 'unilaterally' cancelled the GO in the last week of April this year, while hearing the petition seeking review of the government orders. The bandh called by tribal groups was supported by the CPI, CPM and CPI (ML) New Democracy. Bike rallies were taken to implement bandh in Cherla, Yelland and other places in the district. The police had to intervene when the workers tried to stop the RTC buses.

Tribal leaders At Bhadrachalam Alluri Sita Ramaraju, Kumram Bhim and Dr. BR Ambedkar statue were paid tribute to tribal leaders Punam Veerabhadram, Kunja Dharma, Chitti Babu, Murla Ramesh and others. Speaking to the media, andhra pradesh and telangana state governments wanted to pass a law in the state assemblies based on the GO to protect the rights of the aborigines. They said governments should respond immediately.
