New Delhi: The Supreme Court has categorically refused to reconsider the decision to abolish Maratha reservation in Maharashtra. The Constitution Bench of five judges of the Supreme Court has given this decision. The bench said that no error has been found on record, due to which there is a need to reconsider the matter. In the Supreme Court, a constitution bench of Justice MR Shah, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice BR Gavai, Justice S Ravindra Bhatt, and Justice V Ramasubramaniam has dismissed these petitions.

The constitution bench has said in its decision that no error has been found on the record, due to which there is a need to reconsider the matter. Let us tell you that, in the decision given on May 5, 2021, the constitution bench cancelled the Maratha reservation in Maharashtra and said that according to the 1992 decision of the Supreme Court, the reservation limit cannot be increased beyond 50 percent.
