Gayatri Datar, a Marathi actress, has made her Hindi television debut in the serial 'Mere Sai: Shraddha Aur Saburi,' in which she plays the pivotal role of Sumitra. Gayatri said on her part and debut, saying: "I'm thrilled to be making my tv debut with a show like Mere Sai, which is a fan favourite. When I was asked to play Sumitra, I was quite certain I wanted to do it and couldn't say no."

"The character's graph is incredible throughout, as she goes through a myriad of emotions, from trauma to gratitude to conflict."  She continues, "The outfit is also quite different from anything I've worn before. Being in front of the camera without any makeup requires a lot of guts. I'm thrilled to be playing the part, and I hope fans like the episodes."

Sumitra is devastated with the loss of a child in the ongoing storey. Sumitra's sister-in-law, who has two sons, is unable to watch her in her current position and offers her youngest kid to her. However, Sumitra's sister-in-oldest law's son goes missing, and she demands the return of her younger son, resulting in a quarrel between them. On Sony Entertainment Television, 'Mere Sai: Shraddha Aur Saburi' airs.
