USA: You might want to pause a moment before sending another disappearing WhatsApp message in the future. The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has revealed a feature that lets recipients of messages that vanish keep them. However, there is no need to worry because the sender will continue to have control over the message's fate.

In order to increase privacy, WhatsApp introduced disappearing messages in 2020. End-to-end encryption is a feature of the platform, but it is useless if the device or the person you are speaking to has been compromised.

Messages that disappear are useful in these circumstances. Nevertheless, the sender or recipient might want to keep some disappearing messages. The new feature comes in handy in this situation.

The new function in WhatsApp is known as "Keep In Chat." It is referred to by the company as a "sender superpower."

If you're wondering why it's referred to as a "sender superpower," it's because the sender controls whether the message that vanishes stays or not.

In other words, the sender will be able to "veto" the recipient's choice to save a message that is about to disappear.

Watch the operation of this feature. You must first long-press a disappearing message in order to save it.

After that, from the list of options that appears when you long-press, select "bookmark." The sender will be informed of your action when you do so. After that, the onus is on the sender.

The sending party has the option to "keep" or "unkeep" the chat's dissipating message. The message will remain in the chat after the allotted time if they choose to keep it.

If they decide to unkeep the message, however, no one will be able to keep it again. When the timer runs out, the message will be gone.

If the sender agrees with the recipient's action, a bookmark icon will appear on the message. The message will be simple to recognise as a result.

Even easier, saved disappearing messages will show up in the 'Kept Messages' folder. By chat, they will be arranged.

According to WhatsApp, the function will be made available worldwide in the upcoming weeks.
