MARKET CLOSING UPDATES: After sliding for the previous two days, benchmark indexes closed in the green on Friday thanks to strong buying from foreign institutional investors and an overall uptrend in Asian and European markets. 

The benchmark 30-share BSE Sensex gained 113.95 points, or 0.19 percent to close the day at 60,950.36. The broader r NSE Nifty-50 also finished 64.45 points or 0.36 percent higher at 18,117.15.
Tata Steel, UltraTech Cement, State Bank of India, Reliance Industries, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finance, and Wipro were among the sensex pack's top performers.

On the other hand, Laggards included Dr. Reddy's, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Infosys, HDFC Bank, and NTPC.

International Markets:  Markets in Seoul, Shanghai, and Hong Kong closed higher on other Asian exchanges, but Tokyo's closed lower. In mid-session trades, stock exchanges in Europe were trading in the green. On Thursday, Wall Street had a lower final close.

Crude Oil: International oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 2.34 per cent higher at USD 96.89 per barrel.
According to exchange data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net purchasers on Thursday, purchasing shares worth Rs 677.62 crore.
