Markets: Sensex Extends 8-Day Rally, Nifty Dips Slightly After Hitting Record High

Stock Market Closing Report: On Tuesday, the BSE Sensex continued its impressive rally for the eighth consecutive day. Meanwhile, the Nifty, after reaching a new all-time high, experienced a minor decline amidst mixed global market dynamics.

The BSE Sensex, comprising 30 key stocks, gained 94.05 points, or 0.14 percent, closing at 67,221.13. Throughout the trading session, it soared by 412.02 points, or 0.61 percent, reaching 67,539.10.

In contrast, the Nifty surrendered its earlier gains, concluding marginally lower by 3.15 points, or 0.02 percent, at 19,993.20, in a day marked by significant volatility. During intraday trading, it achieved a remarkable milestone by surging 114 points, or 0.57 percent, to reach an all-time high of 20,110.35.

Among the constituents of the Sensex, major gainers included Tata Consultancy Services, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, UltraTech Cement, ICICI Bank, Nestle, ITC, and Sun Pharma.

However, Power Grid, NTPC, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Reliance Industries lagged behind.

Across Asian markets, Tokyo concluded in positive territory, while Seoul, Shanghai, and Hong Kong ended the day with losses.

In European markets, trading exhibited mixed trends, while US stocks closed on a positive note on Monday.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) displayed a buying spree on Monday, accumulating equities worth Rs.1,473.09 crore, as per exchange data.

The global oil benchmark, Brent crude, recorded a 0.74 percent increase, reaching USD 91.31 per barrel.

On Monday, the BSE benchmark, with its 30 constituents, reclaimed the 67,000 level, surging by 528.17 points, or 0.79 percent, to close at 67,127.08. The Nifty also posted substantial gains, concluding at 19,996.35, reflecting an increase of 176.40 points, or 0.89 percent. Remarkably, the Nifty achieved the historic milestone of surpassing the 20,000 mark for the first time ever during intraday trading.
