One of the leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki unveiled the CNG version of the revised Celerio, which was first debuted in India in November of last year with a raft of improvements. Maruti Celerio, which is currently marketed as India's most fuel-efficient petrol car, is now attempting to entice consumers in areas where CNG is commonly accessible. Over the last five years, Maruti boasts that its CNG car sales have grown at a 22 percent compound annual growth rate.

“Maruti Suzuki has been a pioneer in the country to offer factory-fitted CNG cars. We have the largest portfolio of eight green models on the road and have sold around 9,50,000 S-CNG vehicles," said Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director for Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki. "The launch of All-New Celerio S-CNG will take us a step closer to our ambition of spearheading the mass adoption of green vehicles in India."

This affordable hatchback's CNG version has the same features as the fuel version. The only difference is that the car now has a CNG tank. A 1.0-litre twin-jet dual VVT K-Series engine provides power, while a 60-litre CNG tank provides storage. The Celerio CNG, according to Maruti, gets a verified mileage of 35.60 kilometres per kilo.
