Maruti, India's most popular automaker, plans to launch its 28-year-old SUV in a brand new look. Maruti announced in October 2018 that it would stop production of Maruti Gypsy from April 2019. Maruti Gypsy's services in the Indian Army are still continuing. Now, a report has revealed that Maruti is now going to replace Gypsy with a new vehicle. Maruti Gypsy was also the rebeass version of the first-generation Suzuki Jimny. Maruti Suzuki is developing a new mini SUV on the lines of Jimini Sierra, according to Nikki. The new SUV will not only run on rough roads, but will also be extremely comfortable for daily use.

For your information, let's say that Jimny was launched in Japan last year and is now selling in many countries. People love it because of its offroad features. It's much powerful, safe and modern than before. At present, Jimny is being made in Japan and is exported to the rest of the countries. When it starts manufacturing in India, it will be exported to many countries. The company will be manufacturing the mini SUV at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat factory and will be a right-hand drive as per international demand. Suzuki is working on its large wheelbase version, which will have five doors and plenty of space to sit inside. In India, the long-wheelbase version can prove to be a hit. At present, The Jimny comes with only three doors, which is not comparable to those in India.

For your information, the Suzuki Jimny comes with two engine options 660cc three-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder K-Series petrol engine. The 660cc engine is very popular in Japan, while the rest of the world is in demand for a 1.5-litre engine. The engine is already being sold in Artiga and Siaz and will soon be launched in Vitara Brezza. The engine comes with 104bhp and 138Nm of torque. The Jimny, launched in India, can also be launched with a four-speed torque converter. It may also include a four-wheel-drive version. It can be equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system with ruged lead based chassis, airbags, ABS, ESP, power steering, reverse parking sensors, air conditioning, and android auto and Apple car play support. It can be priced between five and seven lakh rupees.
