India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India has announced the fifth phase of its 'Mobility and Automobile Initiative Lab' MAIL function on Tuesday. Under this, entries have been sought from the startup companies of Mobility and Vehicle sector. Maruti said in its statement that the company has so far tied up with 18 startups in the last four rounds of the MAIL programme.
In this regard, Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India said, "In the coming phase we would like to tie up with more startup companies with innovative ideas in the automobile industry." Specifically, given the circumstances of the Corona crisis, entrepreneurs who bring change can apply for our fifth round of MAIL initiatives. He said that two years of Maruti's MAIL event has completed and so far the company has tied up with 18 startups.
Maruti Suzuki India reported on Monday that its online sales channel, which was introduced for the first time in 2018, has been gaining interest with each passing month and the company sold more than two lakh cars through digital mediums since April of 2019. The company informed that more than 1,000 dealerships have joined its digital sales channel and this will further increase the participation of virtual retail space in the coming years.
