The Maruti Suzuki Alto, a hatchback car that has set new sales records in India for years, continues to be a favourite of customers till date. This information has been made available by the legendary car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited on Thursday that Alto has crossed the sales figure of 40 lakh units. The statement was given by the company clearly stated that this car has broken many sales records since its launch in September 2000 and it has been the best selling car in India continuously for 16 years. The Alto is a good and economical car that is getting tremendous response from users in both urban and rural areas.

MSIL Executive Director (Sales and Marketing) Head, Shashank Srivastava has given a big statement regarding this matter. In which he commented on the car saying, "Alto has been ranked as the No. 1 selling car in India for the 16th consecutive year and we are very proud to announce another remarkable achievement of 40 lakhs. No other Indian car has ever achieved this sales record."

In the case of the engine, the Alto 800 petrol in the petrol avatar is equipped with a 3-cylinder engine, which has a maximum power of 48 PS and the ability to generate a peak torque of 69 Nm. This car is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of mileage, the fuel mileage is 22.05 km / l for the petrol engine and 31.56 km/kg for CNG. Maruti Suzuki Alto priced from Rs 2.95 lakh to Rs 4.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) initial price.
