New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki's most popular hatchback Alto K10's Special Extra Edition has been made public. Both the exterior and interior of the car have received cosmetic updates from the standard model.

The four-wheeler stands out from the standard K10 due to the contrast colored Paprika Orange highlights on the skid plates, ORVMs and roof mounted spoiler. For power, it has been given a 1.0-liter K-series engine.

Alto is the best selling vehicle of Maruti Suzuki in India. Since its launch in 2000, the brand has been able to sell over 43 lakh units of the popular hatchback.

Last year, a capable Dualjet K-series petrol engine and quirky styling were added to the K10 variant by the home-grown automaker. To make it more attractive, the company has now unveiled the unique Extra Edition model.

With a "tall-boy" stance and a muscular bonnet, a hexagonal honeycomb-mesh grille, sweptback halogen headlamps, blacked-out skid plates with paprika orange highlights, and bumper-mounted fog lamps, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Xtra Edition is one Extraordinary vehicle.

Orange ORVMs, body colored door handles and stylishly covered steel wheels frame the hatchback. There are options for wrap-around taillights and a roof mounted spoiler at the rear.

The 1.0-litre K10C, DualJet, Dual VVT, K-series petrol engine that powers the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Xtra Edition is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The mill can generate 89Nm of peak torque and 67hp of maximum power.

Interiors of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Xtra Edition feature a spacious five-seater interior with orange door handle trims, a simple dashboard, dual-tone fabric upholstery, power windows, manual air-conditioning and a multifunctional steering wheel.

The hatchback includes a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Pro infotainment panel with connectivity options and a digital instrument cluster. Dual airbags and ABS keep the passengers safe.

In the coming weeks, the manufacturer will provide information on the pricing and availability of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Xtra Edition. We expect it to be priced higher than the standard model, which in India starts at Rs. 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
