New Delhi: The lockdown implemented nationwide to stop the spread of the global pandemic Coronavirus has negatively impacted all sectors. Corona and lockdown have also been widely affected in auto sectors. But in the meantime, the country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has achieved a big achievement.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd said on Thursday that the total sales of its initial level car Alto have crossed the 40 lakh unit mark. The company said in a statement that the car was launched in the Indian market in September 2000, and has been the best-selling car in India for 16 consecutive years. MSIL said it was the first car for 76 percent of Alto buyers. The company's executive director (marketing and sales) Shashank Srivastava has given information in this regard.

He said, 'Alto has been India's best-selling car for 16 consecutive years and we are proud to announce another notable achievement of 40 lakh unit sales.' The vehicle gives a mileage of 22.05 km / l for petrol and 31.56 km / kg for CNG. Alto's showroom price in Delhi ranges between Rs 2.95 lakh and Rs 4.36 lakh.
