Maruti Suzuki India is recalling 75,419 units of its premium hatchback Baleno to fix faulty airbag component and fuel filter. It is also calling back 1,961 units if its compact sedan DZire with auto gear shift technology to replace fuel filter. Starting May 31, 2016, owners of the vehicles covered will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki dealers.

In a statement, the company said, it will "proactively and voluntarily recall 75,419 Baleno cars, both petrol and diesel, manufactured between August 3, 2015, and May 17, 2016, to upgrade the airbag controller software."

Of these, 15,995 Baleno cars (only diesel), manufactured between August 3, 2015 and March 22, 2016, will also be attended to for inspection and replacement of a faulty fuel filter, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said.

The company will also inspect and replace faulty fuel filters of 1,961 DZire Diesel cars (only AGS variant), the company said.

Earlier in 2016, Maruti Suzuki had recalled 3,796 units of its sedan Ciaz, manufactured till November 7, to correct the fault in clutch operation system.
