After the first economic downturn in India and then the decline in automobile sales due to lockdown, car manufacturers are looking for new avenues for vehicle sales. India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is currently exploring the possibility of starting its own leasing business in retail. Meanwhile, Volkswagen India (Volkswagen India) has started this service.

According to the report of an English website, two people who have information about Maruti Suzuki's plans have disclosed this. Requesting not to be named, he said, "The company has been working on this plan for almost a year and this work is being done under the supervision of a special project team of the company."

Maruti Suzuki will not be the first manufacturer to enter the leasing space in India. Its close rival Hyundai Motor India Ltd (Hyundai Motor India Ltd) is already present in this segment. Even Mahindra and Mahindra (Mahindra and Mahindra) leases their vehicles in India. Apart from them, luxury car manufacturers like BMW and Mercedes-Benz also offer customized leasing plans in India. However, Maruti's vehicle leasing model will be different from other companies, as it plans to use its large nationwide dealership network to grow the business. When the slowdown in domestic automobile sales is being predicted due to lockdown and economic crisis this year, this strategy will open the way for additional earnings for Maruti dealers.
