The country's largest car company Maruti Suzuki has taken a big decision regarding the problems in entry-level car, now the company is preparing to aggressively target the up-graders segment through the new MPV and SUV of Rs 10 lakh to 20 lakh. Still working. This exercise of the company will ensure that new car companies like Kia Motors and MG Motors will not be able to break into its market share. Both companies have captured about 3-5% monthly market share within three months of entry into the market. Hence, Maruti Suzuki has joined hands with Toyota to enter the Hyundai Creta space in 2022 through a mid-size SUV. This SUV will be based on the Brezza architecture. Maruti Suzuki will also bring a C segment MPV in 2023. Several sources aware of the case said that both the vehicles would be ready in Toyota's bidding factory. Unlike the re-launched Baleno, Ciaz and Ertiga, the SUV and MPV will have special features and will be different from the current vehicles. This enabled both companies to benefit from the rapidly growing utility vehicle segment.
It is to be noted that Maruti had surpassed the country's largest utility maker Mahindra only through Brezza and S Cross. Now he is getting tough competition from Hyundai Venue on one side and Mahindra's XUV 300 on the other side. This has reduced the volume of the utility vehicle of the company. Four sources aware of the company's plans said, 'Competitors are about to launch a dozen SUVs. In such a situation, Maruti Suzuki will have to launch competitive products to maintain 50% market share. The exit from the diesel version compact UV space will be challenging for the company but the possibility of a car with a 1.5-litre diesel engine is not gone. Maruti will rely on Toyota's localized hybrid solutions to improve its future portfolio.
