Indian carmakers are currently passing through their bad times. Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest carmaker with more than 50 % market share, is also running at a bad time and has cut production in the past few months. Maruti Suzuki's Passenger Vehicles (PV) production has been cut by 15.60 % in June 2019 and has now fallen to 110,641 units as against 131,068 units in June 2018.

The company registered a 17.2 % decline in sales in June 2019, compared to 134,036 units sold in the same month last year, compared to 111,014 units of PV in the Indian market. Let us know the full details

The biggest decline in Maruti's mini-segment was in June 2019, with a decline of 36.2 % to 18,733 units. The figure stood at 29,381 units in June 2018. Apparently, production has shown a decline, with a decline of 48.20 %to 15,087 units, compared to 29,131 units in the same period last year.

The company has reduced production of its compact cars Swift, Dzire, Baleno and the new generation WagonR. Sales of compact cars stood at 62,897 units with 12.1 per cent, compared to 71,570 units in June last year.

For your information, the Ciaz mid-size sedan is the only model of Maruti Suzuki, which has achieved sales of 2322 units with an increase of 47.1 per cent, compared to 1579 units in the same period last year. However, Maruti has also cut production of the car.

Production of utility vehicles (Vitara Brezza, Artiga, S-Cross and Gypsy) has also been cut by 5.26 per cent and the company produced 17,074 units, compared to 18,023 units in June last year. These cars saw a decline of 7.9 per cent in June and sales of 17,797 units last month, compared to 19,321 units in June 2018.
