New Delhi: The country's leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India has reassembled 1.81 lakh vehicles. The company issued the recall order on Friday to detect a possible flaw in its 5-models petrol engine variant. Maruti Suzuki says its Ciaz, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross, Ertiga, and XL6 models may have a malfunction in their petrol engines. This may threaten the safety of the car. So the company will check 1.81 lakh cars of these models and if they are found to be defective, will be rectified.

According to media reports, the company said in its press release that these 5 models of cars, built between May 4, 2018, and October 27, 2020, may have these flaws. They are also likely to malfunction only in petrol engine variants. The company has said that once these cars return, their 'motor-generator unit' will be checked. If any defects are found, the company will replace them at no cost or money.

Maruti Suzuki has said that the recall exercise of these cars will begin from the first month of November. Until then, the company has prohibited these cars from driving in waterlogged areas and spraying water directly on the electrical and electronic parts of these cars.
