Country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) sold 4.8 percent more in January this year compared to January 2017. Maruti Suzuki had sold 1.44,396 cars in January 2017, while in January this year, the company sold 1,51,351 vehicles. In January 2018, the company's sales in the domestic market stood at 1,40,600 units. 

The company had sold 1,33,934 cars in January last year. Maruti Suzuki has said that mini segment cars, including Alto and WagonR, decreased by 12.2 percent during January 2018. In January 2018, the company sold 33,316 cars in the mini segment. In January 2017, the company sold 37,928 cars in this segment. 
 

Sales of compact segment increased 21.6% in January 2018. â€‹Maruti Suzuki has reported that during January 2018, sales of compact segment increased 21.6 percent. This segment includes Swift, Estilo, Dzire and Baleno. 

The company sold 67,868 vehicles in this segment. However, during January 2017, the company sold 55,817 vehicles. Maruti Suzuki has reported that in January 2018, mid-sized sedan sales have fallen by 22.5% to 5,062 units. At the same time, utility vehicle sales increased by 26.8% in January 2018 to 20,693 units. In January last year, the company had sold 16,313 units of this segment.
