Maruti Suzuki Swift has been a very popular product in the Indian market and it has also been the best selling car in the premium segment. Since its first launch in 2015, the company has so far sold over 2.2 million units in the Indian market. Currently, its third-generation model is available for sale in the Indian market which the company launched during the 2018 Auto Expo and it gives a tough competition to the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Ford Figo in the Indian market. Like Maruti, it has also updated its updated Swift to BS6 emission norms. According to sources, the company is now working on a powerful version of its Swift in which the company can offer 1.2-liter dual jet petrol engine.

The 1.2-liter dual jet petrol engine is the same as what we have seen in Maruti's premium hatchback Baleno before and now the company is going to bring this engine to the Swift again with a new look. In Swift, the company will now offer Maruti's Smart Hybrid System (SHVS) technology which will increase the mileage compared to the current variants. Apart from the mileage, it will be quite powerful if compared to the engine found in the current model and the dual jet engine will be 89bhp. It will generate power and torque of 113Nm.

Demand for second hand two wheeler increased, customers want more mileage

Before the introduction of the BS6 model of Swift, it used to come with both petrol and diesel engine options. However, Maruti has removed the Fiat's 1.3-liter diesel engine from all its cars, and now all its cars are coming with a petrol engine. The Swift is currently coming with a 1.2-liter VVT petrol BS6 engine that generates 82 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. This engine comes with both manual and automatic gearbox options Comes.
