Maruti, the country's largest car company, hiked the prices of its hatchback car Swift on Friday. Maruti has also upgraded the SWIFT to the BS6 engine after Alto and Baleno. But this upgrade has been done only in petrol engines. Here will be the price of the new variant.

The four-cylinder K12B engine is fitted with a 1.2-liter Baleno in the Swift. However, there is no change in the output of the vehicle in the new engine. The 1.2-liter engine delivers 84 hp and 113Nm of torque. On the other hand, it will provide less mileage than the existing BS4 engine and its mileage will be 21.2 km/liter. The Swift also comes with a 1.3-liter diesel engine that the company has not updated.

All SWIFT variants offer AIS-145 standard safety features. All variants will feature co-driver seat belt reminders, speed alert systems, rear parking sensors. Earlier only dual airbags, EBD with ABS and driver side seat belt reminder were the features. And the feature of the rear parking sensor was available only in top ZXi and ZDi. With the new engine, Swift prices have also been hiked. The new range will start at Rs 5.14 lakh. While the base variant has been hiked by Rs 15,000, the price of diesel variants has also gone up. The price of the base diesel variant has gone up by 6,000 rupees and the top variant by around Rs 4,000. that customers will need to offer on the new model.
