India's leading automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is preparing to bring a premium model of its popular car WagonR. It has recently been seen during testing. Reports said that the premium Maruti WagonR will be launched under the name Maruti XL5 and will be sold from the company's premium dealership Nexa. Many details of this new car of Maruti have come out from leaked pictures.

According to the information received, major changes in the premium model will be seen in its front as compared to the standard model of Maruti WagonR. The new model will have a redesigned grille, new headlamps, new bumpers and LED daytime running lights. It is expected to be given a projector headlamp and ground clearance of around 180 mm. The images have revealed that the premium model of the WagonR will get LED taillamps on the rear and high-mounted LED stop lamps. It will not get, that is, its rear look will be like standard WagonR. The interior of the new car is expected to be given in black colour like Maruti's premium MPV XL6. Apart from this, some new features can also be seen.

It is believed that the company Premium WagonR is expected to be launched only in the 1.2-liter petrol engine, which is in line with BS6 emission norms. Also, the standard model of WagonR comes with 1-litre and 1.2-litre petrol engine options. The premium model will also get a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT options. Recently Maruti Suzuki has launched the premium MPV XL6 based on the Ertiga with some changes. The front look of the XL6 is completely different from that of the Ertiga, while from the rear it looks quite like the Ertiga. It is a 6-seater MPV, while the Ertiga is a 7-seater. The XL6 cabin is completely black in colour, which gives a premium feel. Similar changes will be seen in the premium model of WagonR.
