A grave road accident took place in Srikakulam district on Sunday morning. Three people were killed when a car collided with an oncoming vehicle in the Kanchili Zone. The accident took place on the Kanchili Zone Waterfront National Highway. A Scorpio car coming towards Visakhapatnam from Odisha when it collided with an oncoming vehicle. Three people in Scorpio died on the spot. Three others in the car were injured. The victims were identified as residents of Kharagpur.

The accident took place while they were visiting their son who lost his life in an accident at the Visakhapatnam Hindustan Shipyard. Getting this news, the people of the house went to see their son.  As soon as the officials were informed about the accident, they took into account the family for relief measures. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. When the district Police got the information, they reached there and pulled out the bodies from the car.

A case was registered over the incident that happened and the bodies were taken in for postmortem. Those injured in the accident were sent to Srikakulam Government Hospital for further treatment. The Scorpio driver was initially accounted for the accident that happened because of his negligence as the travel made him drowsy. The accident is believed to have been caused because of the inattentive nature of the driver. The police reached there immediately as they observed a great traffic jam due to the accident that happened.
