necessary ingredients :
Green peas - 2 cups
Tomatoes - 1 large finely grinded
Onion - 1 large (finely chopped)
Garlic-Ginger Paste - 1 Tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Red chili powder - as per taste
Green Chili - 2 - 3
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Oil, butter and coriander leaves - as desired
Method of preparation:
To make pea masala, soak the peas for about 4 hours. After this, add salt and boil and keep the water aside to drain. Now put oil in the cooker and when it gets hot, add cumin seeds. Add finely chopped onions and chopped green chilies. When the onions and chillies are roasted, add ginger-garlic paste. Keep it running lightly. Then add coriander, turmeric, chilli powder and powder of all the dried spices. Now keep stirring them on low flame. Keep in mind that the spices should be roasted, do not let them get fried. When roasted add ground tomatoes. When the oil starts leaving the edges, add peas and stir well. Now add water according to the gravy required and close the cooker. Take 2-3 whistles of the cooker. Remove the pea masala, add butter and coriander and serve. If you want sour curry, then after opening the cooker, one and a half teaspoon of mango powder can be added. Or squeeze the lemon on top while serving and mix well and serve.
