In a shocking incident in Saharanpur district, an 8-year-old child was reportedly tied up and brutally beaten before being taken to a madrasa, implicating Maulana Tanveer and the victim's uncle, Arshad. Both are accused of subjecting the child to a horrific act of violence, allegedly due to suspicions of theft. The incident, which occurred in the Teetarow Thana area, has garnered widespread attention.

Viral Video Exposes Barbarity

On November 12, a video from the village of Balu in Saharanpur went viral, depicting the heinous act of a child being bound and mercilessly beaten. The child bore visible marks of the assault on his back. Shockingly, the assailants seemed indifferent to the harm inflicted. Subsequently, the perpetrators restrained the child with a chain and transported him to a local madrasa.

Local Vigilance and Social Media Outcry

Local residents, discovering the child on his way to the neighboring village, engaged him in conversation, discreetly recording a video in which the child recounted the alleged abuse by Maulana Tanveer and Arshad. The video quickly spread across social media platforms, prompting a swift response from both local news outlets and the Saharanpur police.

Police Intervention and Arrests

Upon receiving information from media reports, the Saharanpur administration launched an investigation. A team comprising the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) visited the crime scene to assess the situation. The victim's family initially attempted to shield the accused by attributing the incident to the child's purported thieving habits. However, upon police questioning, the truth emerged, implicating Maulana Tanveer and Arshad. Based on the victim's statement, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Maulana Tanveer and Arshad. Additional SP Sagar Jain confirmed the arrests of both accused on Monday, November 13, 2023. The case is under ongoing investigation, with legal proceedings to follow.

Community Divisions and Allegations

While the SDM affirmed the veracity of the child's claims, former village head Niyaz accused the madrasa of being unjustly dragged into the controversy. He contends that the incident has no connection to the madrasa and alleges baseless targeting. In the aftermath of this distressing event, the Saharanpur police are committed to a thorough investigation, ensuring justice for the victim and holding the accused accountable.
