New Delhi:- Max Verstappen insists his F1 dominance this season is "never boring" despite his lack of struggles on track. The Dutchman has taken pole position in every race since the Monaco Grand Prix, extending his winning streak one more race to Miami, moving up from ninth on the grid.

His leadership paid off as he built a 99-point lead over Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez in his third Drivers' Championship fight.

The order of chasing fluctuates constantly throughout the season, but Verstappen remains largely unconcerned leading up to his eight wins, leaving it questionable whether he enjoys the advantage.

Verstappen has acknowledged that there is more to his life than sport and has openly hinted that he may leave F1 when his current contract expires at the end of 2028.

Asked if it would be boring not to be able to compete directly with his rivals, Verstappen said: "The opposite is true. I think if you don't have the opportunity to fight for victory, you will get bored."

"It's very motivating when you're competing at the top. I love what I do, but the challenge of wanting more, staying at the top and widening the gap is what motivates me right now. "

Verstappen made the end of the Austrian Grand Prix a little more exciting by making a late pit stop and scoring bonus points for the fastest lap, despite hearing from the pit wall that the pit stop was too dangerous.

"Whether it's old tires or not, I just wanted to set the fastest lap," explained Verstappen. "The team also understood that it was safer to set the fastest lap on the new tires than on the old ones." “Sometimes there is no risk and no fun, so we need to spice things up a bit.”

"It's also kind of a motto that Dietrich [Mateschitz] once had and used. You can't have fun without taking risks. So I implemented it too, said Max Verstappen.
