Mumbai-based actress-comedian Maya Rudolph, who portrays the villain Malvina in the musical fantasy movie "Disenchanted," believes the audience will identify with the movie's candour about family life.
Explaining on the same, she said: "Because of how openly "Disenchanted" portrays family life, I believe audiences will adore it. Giselle (Amy Adams), who tries to give her family a storybook life, has good intentions, but reality is not always like that. Through it all, it's just vital to reflect on all the simple interactions with loved ones that we often take for granted." Ironically, Amy Adams, who plays Giselle Philip, believes that change is a normal process and the only constant in life.
Amy Adams commented on the movie, saying, "It's important to realise that change is a necessary aspect of life. We will be less content with where we are today the more we resist change and want to go back to who we once were." The sequel to the 2007 movie "Enchanted," "Disenchanted," retells the narrative of the charming Andalasian princess who eventually found her Prince Charming in the kingdom of New York City.
Adam Shankman is the musical's director and choreographer. Amy Adams, reprising her role as Giselle, is joined by Patrick Dempsey as Giselle's husband, Robert Philip, Maya Rudolph as Malvina, Yvette Nicole Brown as Rosaleen, Jayma Mays as Ruby, Gabriella Baldacchino as Robert Philip's daughter Morgan, Idina Menzel as Nancy Tremaine, and James Marsden as Prince Edward in the ensemble cast.
On November 18, the movie will be available on Disney+ Hotstar.
