Lucknow: Polling for the fourth phase of Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh is underway in nine districts, including capital Lucknow, today. A day before voting for 59 assembly seats spread across nine districts began, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi's son Mayank Joshi met Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former CM Akhilesh Yadav.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav himself tweeted about his meeting with Mayank Joshi and also shared a photo. Mayank Joshi also came to meet former minister Abhishek Mishra immediately after meeting Akhilesh. Let us know that Abhishek Mishra is contesting on an SP ticket from the Sarojininagar assembly seat in Lucknow. SP president Akhilesh has termed the meeting as a courtesy call, but the political implications of the meeting on the eve of the election are also being extracted.

Let me tell you that Mayank Joshi had asked for an assembly ticket from the BJP. Mayank wanted to contest from Lucknow Cantt assembly seat, from where his mother Rita Bahuguna Joshi has also been an MLA. Rita Bahuguna Joshi had also said that she would be ready to resign from the Lok Sabha membership if her son got a ticket, but the BJP did not give a ticket to Mayank.
