Lucknow: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday presented the first supplementary budget for the financial year 2021-22 in the Legislature. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati's first reaction has come to the fore. Mayawati has termed the Yogi government's budget as low on expectations for the people and a more heart-rending budget. At the same time, Mayawati said that if the UP government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs 3 like Tamil Nadu, crores of people would have got some relief from inflation.

After the supplementary budget was presented in the house, Mayawati tweeted that, 'The supplementary budget presented in the UP Vidhan Sabha today is less of hope and more heart-wrenching for the poor and working people in various troubles of the state. Had the UP government, like Tamil Nadu, reduced the price of petrol by Rs 3, crores of people would have got some relief from inflation.'

Mayawati further wrote, "As per the manner in which the BJP government has made indiscriminate promises and announcements etc., the lack of proper budget arrangements will make them paper announcements whereas before the announcements in the BSP government, financial arrangements were necessary for them. This is the real difference between BSP and others.''
