Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) maintained distance from the election of Zilla panchayat president in Uttar Pradesh. BSP did not field a single candidate in these elections. BSP supremo and former UP CM Mayawati has cited the reason for not contesting the zilla panchayat president's election. Mayawati explained why she did not field her candidates for the Zilla panchayat president's election.

 

BSP supremo Mayawati on Monday said that 'We have decided not to contest the election of zilla panchayat president in UP. I want to make it clear that if the elections were fair, we would have contested the elections'. Mayawati also directed the party workers to try to strengthen the party's organisation and increase the party's mass base in the entire society instead of putting their time and strength in this election.

BSP supremo Mayawati further said that BSP government will be formed in the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh this time and when BSP government will be  formed there.
