'BJP govt is champion only in renaming,' Mayawati hits out at CM Yogi

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former CM Mayawati has attacked the Yogi government in UP over the renaming of schemes, roads and highways. Mayawati tweeted that "During the BSP government, like various districts of the state, houses were constructed for the poor in Agra, which was publicly appreciated. But due to the change of power, many public interest projects which were not completed by the SP and now the BJP government in a malicious manner remained incomplete. It is very sad.''

Mayawati in her next tweet said, "Anyway, the state and the country are witnessing that due to gross narrow political and caste hatred, etc., the SP and BJP governments have not only changed the names of BSP government schemes but have also done a lot of playing with the public interest and public welfare by shutting them down/deactivating, Which will remain recorded as a black chapter.'' It may be recalled that Mayawati had earlier said that the BJP has a 'double engine' government in UP, yet the buzz of life-threatening life is common everywhere with the duplication of the roads in the capital Lucknow, but instead of improving its condition, Lucknow municipal corporation is also the champion in renaming roads and wards etc. on the lines of the state government. This is a strange situation.

She had said, "Like the poor law and order and development situation in the UP BJP government, the plight of urban and rural roads here has disrupted normal life. I wish the BJP government had been a little honest about the public interest and the welfare of the people, there would have been no difference between what they say and what they do.''
