Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati has called on the Uttar Pradesh government to halt its controversial "bulldozer politics" and focus on pressing issues such as wild animal attacks and a recent rape case involving a private ambulance driver.

On Thursday, Mayawati slammed  the Yogi Adityanath administration for its handling of wild animals encroaching on human habitats. She pointed out that in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, wild animals have been attacking children, the elderly, and other residents. Mayawati emphasized the need for a comprehensive strategy to address this problem, noting that poor communities are struggling to provide for their animals due to the lack of government support.

Additionally, Mayawati called for an end to the "bulldozer politics," suggesting that such matters should be addressed by the Supreme Court where she believes justice can be more effectively pursued. This call came in response to recent remarks by Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan, who questioned the legality of demolishing homes of accused individuals without due process. Their comments ignited a heated debate between Chief Minister Adityanath and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Mayawati also addressed a disturbing incident in Basti district, where a private ambulance driver allegedly attempted to molest and rape a woman. She condemned the act and urged the government to take decisive action against the perpetrator, highlighting the serious nature of the crime given that the woman's husband had already passed away.
