She tweeted that the official insistence of elections through EVMs instead of ballot paper poses a real threat to the country's democracy and the Constitution. She said public confidence in EVMs is declining. If a meeting had been convened to discuss the use of EVMs, I would have gone. In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold discussions with opposition parties in Delhi on Wednesday on the issue of 'one nation one election'. The yogi government in the state has sent the state's consent to the center after a wide-ranging consultation on Modi's suggestion last year.

In another tweet, BSP supremo congratulated Congress President Rahul Gandhi on his birthday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened a meeting of top leaders of all political parties on Wednesday. Apart from 'one nation, one election', issues like celebrating the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the completion of 75 years of the country's independence in 2022 will be discussed. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will not attend the meeting. He refused on Tuesday.
