Lucknow: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former UP CM Mayawati has attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. She said Dalits and backwards are being victimised in the country along with Uttar Pradesh wherever there is a BJP or Congress government.
Mayawati was speaking to the media on Friday on the death anniversary of BSP founder Kanshiram. In the meantime, she attacked the Congress and the BJP over atrocities on Dalits. She has blamed the BJP government for the Hathras case as well as the growing atrocities on Dalits in Uttar Pradesh. Mayawati said, "Dalits and backwards are being tortured in UP and in other parts of the country as well wherever there is BJP or Congress government. Hathras case is the latest example of this".
Mayawati said "Dalits are being exploited at all levels. In this case, the BJP and the Congress people are alike. Both parties think the same way. It works in several states to run their agenda by forming their own government. Mayawati said the fact is that there was no upliftment or development of Dalit society under the rule of both the Congress or the BJP. On the contrary, they have been attacked in a big way".
