New Delhi: The Delhi High Court slammed all irresponsible officials for not paying salaries and pensions to doctors, nurses, teachers, and employees of Municipal Corporations of Delhi. The court said that if the situation did not change then we would not be surprised that the leaders of political parties and the people concerned would start beating on a large scale.

The Bench of Justices Sanghi and Rekha Palli has said this while ordering the Delhi government to refund the adjusted amount to the municipal corporations in lieu of their outstanding loans within two weeks. The bench said that in our view, in these circumstances, the deduction of money from the Delhi government on the issue of debt recovery cannot be justified, especially when the recovery of loans from municipal corporations is being considered for the last three years.

The bench has created a problem of paucity of funds and not paying salaries and pensions because the Delhi government, the municipal corporations, and the central government have become like a sandwich because the government in Delhi is the opposition political party.
