Huawei, Samsung, and Qualcomm have already submitted their chipsets with 5G modem support, and MediaTek is going to follow this example. The Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer announced that “the time has come” for “smart to meet quickly”, and the new 5G AI product will arrive in May, that is, we will have 10 days before the opening of the new platform.

Helio M70 was originally introduced by the company as a 5G platform, but has not yet been officially announced or will not be supplied to actual manufacturers of smartphones. We do not know whether the 5G modem will be built into the new chipset, or it will be the official launch of the M70, but with such a time frame we’ll hardly see any devices with this chip by the end of 2019.

Mediatek’s top priority is 5G + AI, and the 12nm Helio P90 comes with an independent AI processor capable of achieving gigabit speeds for AI calculations. MediaTek claims that it can track the human body and read specific gestures, creating a beautiful body and live video with a blurred background in place.
