In Tamil Nadu another horrific case of medical lack of concern reported wherein a woman who was eight-months pregnant and diagnosed with anemia two weeks back was transfused with HIV positive blood.  She is 24-year-old and  required the blood transfusion immediately but it was claimed that HIV+ blood was transfused due to a coldhearted mistake by the doctor and the nurses of the government hospital in Sattur, Tamil Nadu.

Reports suggested that the woman has filed an FIR against the doctor and the nurse at Sattur police station of Tamil Nadu.  the  lady was second time pregnant but due to the transfusion of HIV+ blood, there is a serious health risk for not just her but her unborn baby as well. The woman was the wife of a labourer and they could not have enough money for the medical treatment at expensive private hospitals.

An inquiry into matter has been ordered by the Tamil Government to find out whether more people were transfused the infected blood. It is noted that patients who were given blood in the similar time period and from the same batch are being rechecked to know whether they are affected by the HIV+ blood.

Meanwhile The Tamil Nadu government has ordered a retest in four private blood banks and two government blood banks to make out whether the HIV+ blood is still stored there, posing a major medical peril to potentially thousands of citizens.
