With an expectation that COVID-19 vaccine will be avilable from April 2021, India with high population is preparing itself to be ready to get vaccinated. India should design a strategy to vaccinate people in a short span of time. National COVID-19 Vaccination Mission’ (NCVM) will be expected to be carried out to vaccinate people of approximately 70 crore by December 2021. The mission is more similar to make people to vote for Prime Ministerial election. Right now the government and the organizations, NGOs are concentrating on procurement and distribution and cold chain related issues.

Inspite of all these factors, if there is no adequate human resource to administer the vaccine, there is a possibility that the desired percentage of population might not get the vaccination. This backslashes the vaccination program or the mission. The surgical procedures, non-COVID-19 medical Out-Patient (OPD) treatmentsand the routine medical checks including regular immunizations has been damaged very badly. There is an report that says an approxiamte number of 10 Lakh children has missed their regular vaccinations. In a assumption that vaccinating a single person takes 20 minutes and a person is working  eight hours per day, in a 3 month time 1900 people will be vaccinated by a single worker. It would require a minimum of four lakh staff members appointed only to the COVID-19 vaccination to cover the target of 70 crore population in six months duration. Instead of stressing the healthcare workers more, it is better to create a separate pool of human resources for the COVID-19 vaccinating purpose by teaming up the final year MBBS, BDS, AYUSH doctoral, nursing, pharmacy and other paramedical program students.

More like electoral system, a separate vaccinating area can be formed and the students will be employed to administer the vaccination supported by non-medical government staffs to administer the reports. The penultimate and final year students will comprise a count to four lakh and upon training they can be used as a human resource to vaccinate the general public. This ensures no further stress on health-care workers, timely reach to the public, no wastage of vaccine. The government should work on this side too and devise an effective strategy.
